For the third year in a row, Western Kentucky won the Conference USA title. Leading the charge for the Hilltoppers in the five-set championship match victory over Rice on Sunday was sophomore middle Rachel Anderson.
Anderson, a 6-foot-1 native of Sturgis, Michigan, put down 31 kills with only two errors to hit .580 and become the first WKU player since 2011 to surpassed 30 kills in a match.
In the conference semifinal match against UTSA, Anderson hit .529 with 11 kills. She followed with 14 kills and six blocks in the quarterfinal match with UTEP.
Anderson, the 2015 C-USA Freshman of the Year, earned the conference's tournament MVP honor for her efforts.
