Missouri had the SEC championship in its sights, but first, the Tigers had to come out on top of a highly anticipated battle with the then-No. 5 Florida Gators.

That match, which took place this past Sunday, went to five sets, with Missouri eking out the victory 25-18, 23-25, 25-15, 21-25, 15-10.

Senior outside hitter Carly Kan led the Tigers with 25 kills and 21 digs, and Melanie Crow contributed 20 kills, hitting .341. As a team, Missouri hit .331 to Florida's .228 and out-blocked the Gators 11-5. Middle blocker Alyssa Munlyn led the match with nine total blocks.

Missouri, now 14-2 in SEC, will take the conference title if it can get wins in matches over Georgia and Tennessee later this week. If the Tigers do collect victories in those two matches and Kentucky beats Tennessee and Florida takes down Auburn and Arkansas, then the three teams will be tied with 16-2 conference records, but Missouri holds the head-to-head advantage over both teams.
