Volleyball athletes April Ross, Khalia Lanier, Samantha Bricio and Nicolette Martin attended the ESPYs award show last night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Former USC all-star and reigning AVCA Player of the Year Bricio was nominated in the Best Female College Athlete category, and Lanier attended as the 2015-2016 Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year. Ross was featured in this year's ESPN Body Issue and serves as the presenter of the Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year award. USC beach volleyball player Martin attended as a representative of USC, which won the Capitol One Cup as the top women's athletics program.

Although we were hoping Bricio would emerge victorious in the Best Female College Athlete category, award-winner and former UConn basketball player Breanna Stewart's acceptance speech highlighted the need for equal coverage of women's sports, and to that, we say "Amen, sister."
