John Cook, head coach of the Nebraska women’s volleyball program, signed a contract extension guaranteeing he’ll lead the Huskers through January 2021. Along with the new contract, Nebraska gave Cook, who coached his team to the program’s fourth national championship last December, a $144,000 raise. With a base salary of $600,000, Cook is now the highest-paid women’s coach at the university, surpassing head women’s basketball coach Amy Williams’ salary of $575,000.

The two-time AVCA Coach of the Year and the No. 6 winningest coach in NCAA history helms one of the most popular and powerful women’s college volleyball programs in the country. He has led the Huskers to three national championships, four NCAA finals appearances, and six NCAA semifinals.
