The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its Division III men’s volleyball preseason poll on Jan. 5, setting the early national hierarchy ahead of the 2026 season. Springfield sits atop the rankings, followed by Carthage and Juniata in the top three, while Southern Virginia and Messiah round out the top five.

The poll reflects a wide geographic spread of contenders, with programs from the Northeast, Midwest and West Coast represented throughout the top 20. Stevens, Vassar and NYU give the UVC a strong presence inside the top 10, while Cal Lutheran leads West Coast representation at No. 9.

With all teams opening the season 0-0, the preseason rankings provide an early snapshot of expectations as programs prepare for their opening matches later this month.
