East Texas Baptist has patiently waited for La Verne to slip — and the day finally came.

ETBU notches the No. 1 ranking for the first time in program history, earning 82 out of 86 first-place votes.

After La Verne suffered its first loss of the season to Redlands last week, ETBU stands alone as the only undefeated team on the chart (29-0).

The Tigers have been steadily climbing since the start, reaching the No. 2 spot after Week 4. Now, they enter the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament as the top seed.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin–Eau Claire fell 1–3 to Wisconsin–Oshkosh in its final regular-season match. The Blugolds’ third loss of the year dropped them from No. 3 to No. 5 in the national rankings and to second place in the WIAC standings.

The preseason favorite and last year's champion, Juniata, endured a rough stretch with three consecutive losses. But the No. 10 team is back in the win column after victories over Penn State Altoona and Carnegie Mellon.

As the postseason looms, momentum is shifting across the national rankings. ETBU’s historic rise to No. 1 sets the stage for an exciting conference tournament, while other powerhouses regroup and refocus for a final push toward championship contention.
