Washburn (17-1) catapulted to No. 9 from No. 2 in just one week after handing Nebraska-Kearney a 3-0 shutout at Whiting Fieldhouse.

The match started out close, with the first set ending 25-21, but the later sets wrapped up more decisively at 25-13 and 25-14.

Nebraska-Kearney (18-2) suffered their first losses of the season in two road games against Emporia State and Washburn, causing them to slide from No. 2 to No. 5.

Tampa (14-0) spends its second week at the top and extends its undefeated season with victories over Eckerd and Rollins. The Spartans will face two important tests this week against No. 8 Lynn and No. 3 Barry. The matchups are an opportunity for Tampa to assert its dominance, but a loss could easily boost Barry to No. 1.

A newcomer to the top 25, No. 19 Fresno Pacific joins Tampa as one of only two undefeated teams on the list. The Sunbirds earned their spot by defeating No. 5 Point Loma 3-1 last week on their home court.
