Those in the volleyball world know that this is a very fashionable sport. That fashion-conscious attitude extends from socks and shoes to uniforms to hair to bikinis and boardshorts.

This year we've seen many fashion successes on the volleyball court, but sometimes a volleyball fashion statement misses the mark. Here are our picks for best and worst dressed.

BEST DRESSED

Wisconsin

We loved the old-school flair of the University of Wisconsin women's Under Armour jerseys. Those elbows pads though...

Cameroon Indoor Women

From their incredibly colorful uniforms to beautifully braided hair, the Cameroon women made a statement on the court at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

UCLA Indoor Women

The Bruins rocked a pretty shade of blue-gray this year. There was some complaining about the lack of contrast with the libero wearing a blue jersey while the rest of the team wore gray.

Rox Volleyball created a line of crab-themed boardies for the Crabb bros. Will be interesting to see if Taylor and Trevor keep rocking the Rox shorts after breaking up their beach partnership.

We think it's safe to say everyone was jealous of Patterson and Gibb's Lululemon sponsorship deal.

Team Canada Beach

Lululemon also sponsored the four Canadian beach volleyball teams that qualified for Rio. Their custom-created bikinis and boardshorts were works of art.

Aleksandrs Samoilovs

It really doesn't matter what the Lion King wears, the hair and attitude were enough to get him on this list.

Argentina Indoor Men

Argentina always looks good in that characteristic blue, but the intricate design of the team's uniforms in Rio really caught our eye.

Team Brazil Men's Beach

The four men of Brazilian beach volleyball at the Olympics made their country proud, rocking elaborate blue, green, and yellow uniforms and bringing home the gold medal.

Worst Dressed

Team Brazil Indoor Men's Podium Uniform

Neon was taken to a whole other level with the Brazilian men's podium uniform. It was kind of like staring into the sun. Or are we just bitter that it wasn't Team USA up there receiving gold? Hard to say.

China Indoor Women

Yellow spandex. Need we say more?

Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lupo

No disrespect to the Olympic bronze medalists from Italy, but these outfits reminded us of tennis whites. Also it rained, so white was a bad choice, and, of course, Lupo's flat brim hat that kept coming off in the middle of plays.
