Fort Lauderdale Major: Qualifier Recap and Main Draw Preview

Three American beach volleyball pairs advanced from the qualifier rounds to the main draw of the FIVB Fort Lauderdale Major: Kelly Claes and Kelly Reeves, Emily Day and Brittany Hochevar, and Sean Rosenthal and Trevor Crabb. 

Also advancing was Rio silver medalist Barbara Seixas de Freitas and her new partner Fernanda Alves.

In the main draw, starting February, 8, 2017, new American teams will make their debut, including Lane Carico and Irene Hester Pollock, Brooke Sweat and Summer Ross, Taylor Crabb and Jake Gibb, and Theo Brunner and Casey Patterson.
