Brazil And Germany Advance Out Of Montreux Volley Masters Semis

Germany and Brazil earned their spots in the championship match of the 2017 Montreux Volley Masters, toppling Argentina and China in the semifinals, respectively.

Germany and Argentina faced off in the first semifinal, with the European team emerging with the victory 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 27-25, 25-19). Louisa Lippmann once again led Germany with 22 points, while Elina Rodriguez led Argentina and the match with 23. 

Brazil won its match over China 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 27-29, 26-26). After going up 2-0, and holding a sizable lead in the third, China managed to push it to a fourth set, but it was all Brazil in the fourth. With the victory, Brazil prevents China from repeating as the Montreux Volley Masters champion. 

Argentina and China will play in the bronze medal match at 7:30 AM ET on Sunday, June 11, while Germany and Brazil face off in the championship match at 10 AM ET.
