USC Freshman Joy Dennis: "We All Just Really Trust Each Other"

USC's Joy Dennis the only starting freshman on the No. 1 Trojan squad. She and her partner April Bustamente contributed to a 3-0 victory over Pepperdine in the NCAA beach volleyball championships semifinal, helping her team earn a spot in the championship dual.

"It's so much fun, because I feel like I've learned so much," Dennis said of being the only freshman starting on a very veteran USC squad. "We were just watching film today of me earlier in the season, and I was like are you sure that's me? They've just beat up on me so much that it's helped me become a better player."
