Player Of The Week: Fort Wayne's Diedrich

Fort Wayne freshman Richie Diedrich is the FloVolleyball Player of the Week. The middle blocker helped his Mastodons squad earn two sweeps this weekend, including an upset of Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association favorite George Mason on Friday.

As a team, Fort Wayne collected 14 blocks in its 25-13, 25-17, 25-18 victory over GMU, holding the Patriots to a .049 hitting percentage. Diedrich led the team in that category with seven block assists and a solo in addition to five kills with no errors to hit .833.

Against NJIT the following night, the 6-foot-7 Orlando, Florida, native contributed seven kills and hit .417.

The Mastodons have now won three matches in a row and will face Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association foes McKendree and Ohio State this week.
