CAA Football has announced game times for all of the conference matchups on the 2022 schedule, as well as the home non-conference contests.

The 2022 BIG EAST Softball all-conference teams and major awards were released on Wednesday ahead of the BIG EAST Softball Championships Presented by Jeep, which begins Thursday. Creighton’s Kailey Wilson became the first Bluejay to be named BIG EAST Player of the Year, while Alyssa Graves unanimously became the first Butler hurler to win BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year. DePaul’s Maranda Gutierrez took home BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season. After winning the conference regular season title, the UConn coaches were honored as the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.

The BIG EAST softball season is reaching its thrilling conclusion, though only one of four teams can represent the league at the highest stage in college softball—the NCAA Tournament.

BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week

A team wants to play its best ball of the season in May. That’s especially true for Connecticut, which takes its BIG EAST Conference lead into the final regular-season weekend for the biggest series of the Huskies’ breakout campaign.

In addition to Villanova cornerback Christian Benford being selected by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round of last week’s NFL Draft, 20 former CAA Football standouts will attempt to earn a NFL roster spot as free agent signees or invitees to upcoming minicamps.
