USAV Champs Lead Last 16s List Of The Year

The AAU Junior National Championships were held in Orlando, June 23-26, and produced champions in five different divisions.


Asics Munciana 16 Ninjas downed OTVA 16 South Rox Red 25-23, 25-23 to claim the top spot in the Open division. Munciana beat Mizuno Northern Lights 16-1 25-19, 25-19 in their semifinal bout, and OTVA swept Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold 25-12, 25-14 in the other semifinal contest.


FaR Out 16 National Black only dropped one set on its way to winning the Premier division title, defeating Crossfire MN 16-1 25-21, 25-22 in the championship match.


FaR Out 15 National Black went 13-0 and powered past Criollas 16U - Papo 25-16, 25-20 to nab the first-place trophy in the Club division.


Prolink 16 Michael battled past 352 Elite Rox 16 Lime 23-25, 25-13, 15-4 to win the Classic division, and Mizuno Northern Lights 16-Red slipped by New WAVE 16 Tsunami 25-20, 19-25, 15-11 to take home the Aspire division title.


Minneapolis was the host city for the USAV Junior National Championships (July 1-4), and five more national champions were crowned there.


Mintonette Sports m.61 outlasted TAV 16 Black 17-25, 26-24, 15-13 to win the Open division. Mintonette swept past Summit-Nitro 16 Mizuno 25-17, 25-19 in the semifinals, and TAV downed A5 Mizuno 16-1 Gabe 25-21, 25-22 in the other semifinal match.


Vision 16 Gold beat Dynasty 16 Black 21-25, 25-20, 15-8 to finish first in the National division, and ASICS MAVS 16-1 swept VA Juniors 16 Elite 25-20, 26-24 to win the USA division.


Rancho Valley 16 Premier squeezed by Woodlands Revolution 16 Elite KW 26-24, 26-24 to claim the American division title, and Vision 16 Blue defeated Temecula Viper 16 Kevin 25-17, 28-26 to bring home championship hardware in the Patriot division.
