The 2019 Under Armour First Team High School All-America list features quite a few state champions. Among them is Annie Cate Fitzpatrick, an outside hitter from Ocala, Florida.

The 6-1 outside hitter led Trinity Catholic to its first Class 5A state title in 2018, and this fall, she tallied 425 kills (hitting .311) and 250 digs, playing a key role in her team’s 23-7 record and an appearance in the Class 3A state championship final four.

Despite her team’s five-set loss to eventual state champ Cardinal Mooney in the semifinals, Fitzpatrick cleaned up on postseason awards, earning not only Class 3A Player of the Year, but also Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Volleyball and Under Armour First Team High School All-America.
Fitzpatrick’s volleyball career, already so decorated, is really only just beginning. Next fall, she’ll begin the next phase at Penn State. She committed to becoming a Nittany Lion as a sophomore and signed her official letter of intent last month.
“I’m getting excited about going to Penn State,” Fitzpatrick said. “I’m watching Penn State play on television and I can’t wait to be a part of that program next year. The Big Ten is the most competitive conference and every game is a battle. You have to go all out and give 100 percent all the time and I’m looking forward to that.”
A versatile multisport athlete, Fitzpatrick also plays for the Trinity basketball team and runs track, in addition to competing in beach volleyball.
