Brazil started their first Men's VNL weekend in Poland with a solid 3-0 victory against team USA, but they did not consider it an easy win.

USA coach John Speraw: "It's never fun to lose. There are some specific areas of the game we weren't good at tonight. So we have to go back and evaluate those. Regardless of whether we were young and unexperienced - I want them to play and compete better. We served the ball well, we put a lot of pressure on them, but our transition was really poor. We have to go back to the hotel, watch the video and see how we can get better."

USA captain Taylor Sander: "We have a new team, we were a little bit nervous. We had some chances, but we were not so good in transition. I'm sure we will get better. It was the first match for a couple of guys. All of us will learn from that experience. Brazil always play good and we were pretty close to them. We have some good things to take away from this match. Tomorrow we face Poland and it's always difficult to play against them. We will come to play, have fun and enjoy the atmosphere."

Brazil player Lucarelli: "The match ended three-zero, but it was not such an easy game. Playing against USA is always hard. We performed well in defence, we also served pretty well, our block-defence worked too, and in my opinion it was a key to victory."

Brazil coach Marcelo Fronckowiak: "Obviously, I'm happy about this win. I'm also happy for the team and for myself, because it's not so easy to take such a responsibility. It was a little bit of a nervous situation for everybody, including me. We showed a good game on the court, but we also see things to improve. The USA made many changes in their team, but so did we. I think that step by step, with Lucarelli, Leal and this new group, we can continue to play and show a level at which Brazil used to play."
