Donald Trump will appoint Misty May-Treanor as co-chair to the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

Trump To Appoint May-Treanor As Co-Chair To Sports Council

President Donald Trump will appoint Olympic gold medalist and Long Beach City College volleyball coach Misty May-Treanor to co-chair the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

May-Treanor is a beach volleyball legend, with three Olympic gold medals (2004, 2008 and 2012) and three Beach Volleyball World Championships gold medals (2003, 2005 and 2007).

She won bronze at the Pan American Games in 1999 and a NCAA Division I Championship at Long Beach in 1998.

May-Treanor will advise the council on programs and initiatives that educate, engage and empower Americans to lead a healthy lifestyle.

She will be joined as a co-chair by former Yankees' closer Mariano Rivera and 1982 Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker.

All members will serve a two-year term.
