On Christmas Eve, the University of Oklahoma announced its selection of Lindsey Gray-Walton as the Sooners’ new head women’s volleyball coach.

Gray-Walton heads to Norman after eight years on Craig Skinner’s staff at Kentucky, where she served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. At the end of this season, the American Volleyball Coaches Association named her the National Assistant Coach of the Year.

A six-rotation outside hitter in college, Gray-Walton graduated from Georgia Tech in 2008 and joined the College of Charleston coaching staff a year later.

“Lindsey has done a great job for Kentucky volleyball the last eight years, leaving her mark on the program,” Kentucky head coach Craig Skinner said. “She is one of the most talented up-and-coming coaches in our profession and will do a fantastic job leading OU.”
