Meet The 2017 Under Armour All-Americans: Capri Davis

Six-feet-three inches of pure athleticism, it didn’t take long for Texas native Capri Davis to catch the eye of the University of Nebraska’s head coach John Cook.

Nebraska caught Davis’ eye when she went on a recruiting trip to Lincoln and watched the Huskers play Big Ten rivals Penn State.

“I knew after that visit in November that there was no place I wanted to be other than Nebraska. That was the goal for me,” Davis said in a 2016 interview with the Lincoln Journal Star after she made her verbal commitment.

Position: Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter

College Commitment: Nebraska

In her senior season at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, Texas, Davis led the Eagles with 507 kills, hitting .296, in addition to 56 aces, 344 digs, and 87 total blocks. At the end of the season, she was named District 10-5A MVP.

For her achievements, Capri was named First Team Under Armour All-America by the AVCA.

The former middle blocker has been making the transition to playing outside hitter, because that’s the position she’ll likely play at Nebraska.

“[Capri] is a great blocker and a very physical player,” Nebraska’s Cook said in the press release announcing the 2018 Husker recruiting class. “[She] will add a lot of athleticism to our team at the outside hitter position.”
