USA beach volleyball players Nick Lucena and Phil Dalhausser will play Austria's Alexander Huber and Robin Seidl tonight at 11 p.m. ET for the chance to move on to the quarterfinals of the 2016 Rio Olympics. 

Although both are incredible athletes and champions many times over, perhaps the most notable thing about Phil and Nick's partnership is their close friendship. 

The duo of Florida natives played their first AVP tournament together in 2003 and won their first title together in 2005. They later split up, with Phil partnering with Todd Rogers and winning an Olympic gold medal in Beijing. In 2015, they reformed their partnership and have already collected 11 medals as a pair.
