Let's start today with a little definition.
Hustle: to proceed or work rapidly or energetically.
I can't think of a more relevant topic during the Olympics as we hear the inspiring stories of the athletes who sacrificed so much to get to an elite level. Hustling is literally putting it all out on the line to achieve your goals.
It takes a tremendous amount of work to market yourself to college coaches and earn a scholarship. Athletes spend as many as eight hours a week personalizing emails and making phone calls. I recommend getting creative by sending postcards and utilizing social media to build your brand. It's essential to look at this process as a business, and hustle to maximize every last bit of energy you have to produce a result: a scholarship! It means, at times, you won't be able to hang out with friends; it means sacrifice.
Developing a positive mindset moving forward will help you face the challenges that lie ahead. Use rejection as a tool to drive you to be better. Choose yourself. As one of my recent followers stated, "Never give up! You only need ONE coach (out of many) to want you!"
