The Rio-bound men's and women's national indoor volleyball teams, along with Olympic beach volleyball players Casey Patterson, Jake Gibb, Nick Lucena, Lauren Fendrick and April Ross, attended the Los Angeles Angels game last night as part of an official Olympics sendoff.

Women's national team setter Courtney Thompson threw the first pitch, and wrote on Instagram, "When I was a kid, I wanted to be the first woman to play in the MLB! This may be as close as I get!"

Setter Carli Lloyd got interviewed by Lolita Lopez of NBCLA. "I'm so stoked to be a part of this," she said. "To be represented in a stadium like this with a team that is so well known in our city--I think a lot of people don't know that we are here training in their city--it's just really exciting to be here."
