The preliminary rounds of FIVB Men's World League 2016 came to an end Sunday, with Brazil, USA and Serbia topping the Group 1 rankings.

Team USA has put on a spectacular performance so far in the tournament, going 8-1 overall, with its sole loss coming at the hands of No.1-ranked Brazil. In the final weekend of the preliminary rounds, the U.S. men defeated Bulgaria, Australia and world No. 5-ranked Russia in front of an enthusiastic home crowd at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.

Brazil also finished the preliminary rounds with an 8-1 record, losing only to Serbia; however, the hosts of the Rio Olympics finished ahead of the U.S. in points. Serbia lost to Iran and Argentina in the final weekend of play to finish ranked third.

Italy and France also qualified high enough to move on in the tournament. Poland finished ranked 10th but will advance thanks to being the host of the FIVB World League Final Round, which will take place in Krakow, July 13-17. Team USA kicks off the final round with matches versus Italy and Brazil.
