As the summer comes to a close and Fall quickly approaches, it’s nearly time for NCAA volleyball to kick off the 2025-2026 school year.

Preseason rankings for Division I volleyball have been released by the AVCA, and it seems like two of last season’s semifinals opponents will be sharing the spotlight once again.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers received 40 first-place votes, while the Penn State Nittany Lions received 21 votes. Nebraska ranks No. 1 in the preseason for the first time since 2022 and beats out the former national champion, Penn State.

The Huskers welcome head coach Dani Busboom Kelly along with an array of talented freshmen to revamp the squad in hopes of taking it all the way this time around.

Here’s the full AVCA Division I Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll, as of Aug. 6.
