No. 1-ranked Ferris State football was in a tight game with Saginaw Valley at home at halftime after the Cardinals scored 14 points in the second quarter to tie the game in the final minutes of the first half. 

But Ferris State connected for a third long touchdown with 13 seconds left to take a 21-14 lead at halftime and never looked back. The Bulldogs won 38-17.

Ferris State looked to run away from the Cardinals in the first quarter after a 41-yard touchdown pass from Mylik Mitchell to Wade Xavier and a 58-yard touchdown connection from the two just two minutes later. 

But Saginaw Valley answered with a pair of touchdowns on a Terrance Brown 14-yard run and a 6-yard pass from Mike O'Horo to Brown. 

And then Mitchell hit Tyrese Hunt-Thompson for a 40-yard touchdown.  

Ferris State grabbed control of the game in the second half, building the lead to 38-17.
