Limestone’s Zach O’Malley was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Baseball Player of the Week, while Lincoln Memorial’s Eli Edds was named the SAC Varsity Gems Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during Week 10 of the 2023 season, the conference office announced Tuesday.

O’Malley, a senior outfielder from Greenville, South Carolina, led the Saints to a SAC series win over UVA Wise last week. 

He batted .556 with two doubles, four runs scored and eight RBIs. 

He had a .636 on-base percentage and a .778 slugging percentage for the week, as well.

Edds, a freshman right-hander from Maynardville, Tennessee, had an impressive outing last week for the Railsplitters, as he led them to a 3-0 win over Coker. 

He went 6 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit and no runs, while striking out six batters.
