Anderson forward Diamond McDowell has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Week 7 of the 2022-2023 season, the conference announced Monday.

McDowell, a sophomore from Asheboro, North Carolina, led the Trojans to a 71-58 win over regionally ranked Augusta last week. 

She notched a double-double of 12 points and a season-high 18 rebounds, plus two assists, two steals and five blocks in the win.
