Lincoln Memorial guard Alexa Smiddy has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Week 6 of the 2022-2023 season, the conference announced Monday. 

Smiddy, a freshman from Somerset, Kentucky, scored 38 points in Saturday’s 75-61 win over Limestone for the fourth-most points in a single game in the history of the Lincoln Memorial women’s basketball program. 

She averaged 25 points on 51.6% shooting and 4.5 assists per game in wins over the Saints (75-61) and Southern Wesleyan (92-67).
