The U.S. Women’s National Team kicked off the new Olympic quadrennial with a gold medal at the 2017 NORCECA Pan-American Cup, defeating Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-20, 25-23) in the final.

The victory marks the fifth time the U.S. has won the Pan-Am Cup, making it the winningest team in tournament history and champion in four of the last six years.

Setter Micha Hancock earned the Most Valuable Player award, collecting a tournament-best 31 aces with her much-feared lefty jump serve.
