Sixth-seeded Long Beach State and No. 8 seed South Carolina head home after going 0-2 in the double-elimination tournament. Seventh-seeded LSU pulled off an upset of the 49ers to advance to the second round of the contenders' bracket, while Florida State rebounded from a first-round loss to Hawaii to defeat South Carolina 3-0.

Day two of the beach volleyball championship on Saturday will feature four duals. Here's what to expect in each of the upcoming matches.

No. 2 UCLA vs. No. 4 Florida State

Contenders' Bracket | 1 PM CT

UCLA defeated first-round opponent LSU but fell to Pepperdine 3-1 to conclude the first day of competition. In the Bruins' first contenders' round bracket, they'll face Florida State. The Seminoles defeated South Carolina to stay alive in the contenders' bracket and therefore might have momentum on their side, winning their final match of day one.

"We came out this morning just thinking that Hawaii was going to give it to us," Florida State head coach Brooke Niles said. "We just sat back a little bit this morning, and I wanted us to be the aggressors this afternoon and serve a little bit tougher and be a little bit more aggressive offensively."

The Seminoles and the Bruins have met twice already this year, with UCLA taking the victory both times. The first time the two teams met, UCLA won 3-2, with three of the five matches going to three sets. The second meeting resulted in a 4-1 Bruin victory with Florida State only winning the No. 5 flight.

Despite that history, Saturday could be anyone's dual, whether because it's hard to beat a good team three times in a season or because the gusty wind in Gulf Shores serves as "the great equalizer" as FSU's Niles said.

No. 7 LSU vs. No. 5 Hawaii

Contenders' Bracket | 2:10 PM CT

The contenders' bracket match between LSU and Long Beach State came down to the wire, with Olivia Powers and Katie Lindelow sealing the victory for the Tigers with a win at the No. 3 spot, which pushed LSU to a 3-2 final scoreline over LBSU.

The win was LSU's first in their first-ever NCAA beach volleyball tournament.

"Overall, we expect to be able to compete with these teams that have way more history and way more prestige as far as the national stage of beach volleyball," LSU head coach Russell Brock said. "We expect to be able to compete with them and beat them."

Hawaii comes into this contenders' bracket matchup after defeating Florida State in the first round but falling to USC 0-3 in the second match of the day. The Rainbow Wahine and the Tigers have never played each other in the history of the two programs, so it is anyone's guess which team will come out on top.

No. 1 USC vs. No. 3 Pepperdine

Winners' Bracket | 3 PM CT

For USC and Pepperdine, the story is the exact opposite, as the two programs have faced off 16 times times, with an 8-8 all-time record. This season, however, the Waves and the Trojans have played only once--a meeting which USC won 4-1.

USC made it to the third round of the winners' bracket with 3-0 victories over South Carolina and Hawaii.

Pepperdine advanced after taking down Long Beach State 3-0 in the first round and battling to a 3-1 victory over UCLA in the second. UCLA's No. 1 pair of Megan and Nicole McNamara earned the first point of the dual for the Bruins, but Pepperdine secured victories at the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 flights in quick succession, advancing the Waves and sending UCLA to the contenders' bracket.

Third-Round Contenders' Bracket Match | 4 PM CT

The final match of the day on Saturday will feature the winners of UCLA/Florida State and LSU/Hawaii facing off to determine which team will face the loser of Pepperdine/USC.
