BYU opposite hitter Ben Patch leads the nation in kills per set and has led his Cougar squad to a 9-2 record so far this season. After leading his team in kills in consecutive victories over UCLA, he is the FloVolleyball Player of the Week.

Heading into the double header, UCLA was ranked No. 2 in the country, with BYU clocking in at No. 3, but on its trip to Provo, UCLA was missing All-Americans outside hitter Jake Arnitz and middle Mitch Stahl due to injury.

On Friday, February 3, Ben Patch led the Cougars with 28 kills and 11 digs (his second career double-double), hitting .422 with three blocks, in the five-set victory over the Bruins.
