Top Teams At The JVA Rock 'N Rumble
The Junior Volleyball Association's Rock 'N Rumble is the first tournament in what looks to be a very competitive JVA season.

Before you tune in to the live stream on FloVolleyball, which starts Saturday, January 21, at 8 AM ET, see which teams we think have the best chance to win the 18, 17, and 16 Open divisions and which ones will give the favorites a run for their money.

18 Open

OUR PICK TO WIN IT:

KIVA 18 Red
We watched FloVolleyball High School Player of the Year and Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year Paige Hammons lead her Sacred Heart Academy to the Nike Tournament of Champions title in the fall, and we would not be one bit surprised to see her continue that success with her KIVA squad, which features the top players from the greater Louisville area.

CHALLENGERS:

ASICS Munciana 18 Samurai
For an 18s team, Munciana 18 Samurai is young but very, very talented. Five players are headed to the Big Ten for college, including freshman setter Melanie Shaffmaster, who has already verbally committed to Minnesota.

Mintonette Sports m.81
Illinois-bound setter Diana Brown leads this Mintonette squad that also includes Notre Dame recruit Madison Cruzado and Virginia commit Alexandra Spencer.

Club Fusion 18 Red
Stacked is the only way to describe this Club Fusion 18 Red roster. Wisconsin commit Grace Loberg will be dropping bombs from the outside with Louisville recruit Alexa Byrnes-Hosey running the offense. And don't forget Iowa State-bound Meegan Hart, who will be dangerous from the middle.

Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy 18 Mizuno
MEVBA 18 Mizuno boasts eight Division I bound athletes, including Second Team Under Armour All-American and SMU recruit Alexandra Nordmann swinging out of the middle.

DARK HORSE:

Halton Region Volleyball Club HURRI18BLK
One of Canada's top club teams will be looking to make its mark in the States at the Rock 'N Rumble. The Hurricanes could very well challenge for the title, thanks to the talents of San Diego-bound setter Laura Madill and five other athletes headed to Division I programs in the U.S.

17 Open

OUR PICK TO WIN IT:

Legacy 17 Elite
Legacy's top 17s team fields a formidable front line, with 6-foot-2 Oregon commit and AVCA Phenom Chandlar Duff leading the way. Notre Dame-bound Lauren Wenzel will play opposite Duff, with future Michigan Wolverine Erin O'Leary running the offense.

CHALLENGERS:

KIVA 17 Red
Three Division I-bound defensive players (Bella Bowman, George Washington; Jenna Story, Wright State; Alexis Triplett, Lipscomb) will make this team extremely difficult to score a point on. Kentucky recruit Alli Stumler and Western Kentucky recruit Allyson Cathey will help turn those big digs into kills with big swings from the left.

Michigan Elite 17 Mizuno
The majority of this squad played together as 16s, and the team should only get better in 2017. Scrappy libero Lauryn Gibbs (a Michigan State recruit) will lead the defense, while Kamryn Duffield will set up outside and Notre Dame commit Abryanna Cannon and middle and Dayton commit Molly Asmus.

Munciana 17 Aztecs
LSU recruit Darian Goins and San Jose State-bound Mamie Garard will likely run a 6-2 on this deep Munciana team. Although not the biggest team in the gym (Emily Kleck and Madeline Armstrong are the tallest players on the roster at 6-2 and 6-1, respectively), the Aztecs could very well ball-control their way to the top in Cleveland.

Virginia Elite 17s
Setter Elena Shklyar, who's headed to Michigan State for college, will be the key to this VA Elite team's success. She'll have plenty of options to set, including outsides Julia Lazareva and Claire Farrell, who both touch 10 feet.

DARK HORSE:

Academy Volleyball Cleveland 17N Meredith
Led by the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year, setter Shannon Williams, the AVC 17N Meredith squad is not one to underestimate. Maryn Shinaberry runs the defense, and heavy hitter Kacie Evans and all-around contributor Ila Angermeier will contribute from the pins.

16 Open

OUR PICK TO WIN IT:

Legacy 16 Elite
Outside hitter Allyson Severance is feeling good after leading her high school team to a state title. She'll be joined by Michigan commit middle Jessica Robinson, versatile hitter Morgan Verheyen, and VCU commit middle Aysha Hood on this competitive Legacy team. Setter Madison Dowd set for a 16s team last year and will be incredibly valuable.

CHALLENGERS:

Mintonette m.61
Twin towers Olivia and Emily Margolies lead this Mintonette squad, with Riley Wagoner and Carrigan O'Reilly adding to the offense, and 6-3 Maryland-bound Machaela Podraza quarterbacking.

KIVA 16 Red National
Duke-bound setter Camille Nazor, who also quarterbacks the Assumption High School team, will be dishing out pearls to outside Mary Ann O'Toole, lefty oppo Callie Martin, and young middle Rylee Rader on this stacked KIVA squad.

Munciana 16 Ninjas
The Ninjas, who won the AAU national title in the 14 Open division in 2015 and the 15 Open division in 2016, will be missing Kenzie Knuckles and Melani Shaffmaster, who moved up to 18s this year, but Ohio State-bound libero Kylie Murr is still around to give opposing teams' hitters fits. Melajah Bryant and Mykel Ivy will be tough out of the middle as well.

DARK HORSE:

Team D 16 Red
Eight members of the 15s team that took fifth at AAU Nationals last year return for 2017. Outside Jessie Mruzik earned AAU All-America honors last year and will be joined by promising newcomers Olivia Vance and Taylor Raiola.
