Upset of the Week: Washington State Uproots Two Top-10 Teams
Washington State upset No. 5 Washington on the road to open its Pac-12 season on Wednesday. The Cougars then followed that four-set victory with a five-set win over No. 8 UCLA in Los Angeles on Friday.

Senior outside hitter Kyra Holt has been one of the keys to Washington State's success. The 6-foot-1 California native led both matches in kills -- 21 on 53 attempts against Washington and 18 on 58 attempts at UCLA. She was also second on the team with 14 digs in the win over Washington.

Washington State is now 12-2 overall and 2-0 in the Pac-12. The Cougars' two losses came at the hands of Purdue and Baylor in the preseason. Tied with Utah, Oregon, and Stanford, Washington State sits atop the Pac-12 standings, and the Cougars will take on Stanford and California this week.

Washington State def. No. 5 Washington 3-1 (16-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-19)

Washington State def. No. 8 UCLA 3-2 (25-22, 27-25, 23-25, 21-25, 18-16)
