USA Women Win Paralympic Gold
China has been the USA Women's Sitting Volleyball Team's nemesis for the last two Paralympic Games. In both 2008 and 2012, the USA women finished with a silver medal, while China's athletes stood atop the podium with gold around their necks.

This year, however, the USA finally got the better of the Chinese squad when it mattered, winning the gold medal match 25-12, 25-12, 25-18. Captain Heather Erickson contributed seven kills and a block and was named tournament MVP, as well as Best Receiver. Monique Burkland led with 11 kills and a block.
