Savannah Rennie Receives Liver Transplant
nullSavannah Rennie was diagnosed with congenital hepatic fibrosis in September. This rare liver disease is usually found in infants and the elderly, and yet somehow it appeared in Rennie, a freshman outside hitter on the Cal Berkeley volleyball team.

Earlier this year, Rennie found out she would need a liver transplant. She and her mother Renee journeyed to Indianapolis where they awaited an available liver.

Finally, today, after two months in Indy, Savannah got her liver. According to Renee’s updates on Savannah’s GoFundMe page, the surgery went well, and the family will get to see Savannah in a matter of hours.

“8:00 am Surgery is over!!!” Renee wrote. “Savannah did beautifully!! The Dr said her Liver (Larry the Liver was HUGE!!) Her new Liver (Finn Jr. went in beautifully) All the vessels are flowing and she did great!”

Savannah Rennie was a top recruit from Torrey Pines High School and was on track to be a starter at Cal before the symptoms of her disease began to show. We wish her a full and speedy recovery and hope to see her back on the court soon.
