NCAA Men's Volleyball Rankings: UCLA Lands At No. 1

UCLA men's volleyball lands in the top spot in the AVCA Coaches Poll and the NCAA Men's Volleyball RPI.

UCLA men's volleyball, following a 22-4 regular season, landed at the top spot in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll, just before teams head to to conference tournaments and then the NCAA tournament. 

Long Beach State, UC Irvine, Grand Canyon and Hawai'i round out the top five in the Coaches Poll. 

In RPI, fellow MPSF conference foes Grand Canyon take the second spot, while Long Beach State, UC Irvine and Penn State take the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 spots, respectively. 

The MPSF Men's Volleyball Championship begins April 17 and will be broadcast on FloVolleyball.

UCLA No. 1 In Both AVCA Coaches Poll And RPI

UCLA Bruins men's volleyball were in the No. 2 spot until the most recent AVCA/NVA National Collegiate MVB Poll on April 15. Long Beach State occupied the No. 1 spot but a loss to UC Irvine likely dropped the Beach down, while UCLA put away Stanford, Grand Canyon and Concordia in the last six matches. 

Five MPSF Teams In Top Ten Of Coaches Poll

Five Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball programs landed in the top 10 of the most recent Coaches Poll, more than any other conference. After UCLA, Grand Canyon was No. 2, BYI was No. 7, Pepperdine was No. 9, Stanford was No. 10. Big West had the second most teams in the top 10 with three.
