Wingate swept the awards as Maggie Young was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Maggie Mullen was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Young, a graduate student from Waxhaw, N.C., had an incredibly efficient week, posting a .649 hitting percentage while piling up 25 kills in just 37 swings, adding seven blocks, four digs and an ace. Young started her week with eight kills in 16 swings in the sweep over Lenoir-Rhyne, as the ‘Dogs handed the Bears their first SAC loss of the year, adding four blocks, four digs and an ace. Young piled up a career-high tying 17 kills in just 21 swings without an error in the sweep over UVA Wise, hitting .810 in the match while adding three blocks. Young leads the SAC and ranks in the top five nationally in hitting percentage.

Mullen, a graduate student from Harrisburg, N.C., anchored a Wingate defense that picked up two more SAC sweeps, piling up 34 digs in six sets of action while adding eight assists and a pair of kills. Mullen had 20 digs in the sweep over Lenoir-Rhyne as the Bulldogs handed the Bears their first SAC loss of the year. Mullen had 14 more digs in the UVA Wise sweep, adding five more assists while hitting the 1,000-career dig mark.
