Neither of the two teams has ever won a gold medal at the Pan-American Cup; however, Argentina has earned silver four times.

The U.S. Men's National Team will play Dominican Republic today at 1 PM ET in the fifth-place match. The Americans lost to Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals, but rallied back to secure a straight-set victory (25-23, 25-14, 25-20) over Venezuela in a classification match.

BYU grad Jake Langlois led the USA with 10 points versus Venezuela, while UCLA grad Mitch Stahl and Pepperdine's David Wieczorek each added nine.

"Today, we played very good from the service line, and received the ball very well," USA head coach Rob Neilson said. "For sure it was an overall better match today. I'm excited for the guys, and hopefully we're moving in the right direction."
