NCAA Announces Men's Volleyball Championship Field

Only a day after all four NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball conferences crowned their champions, the NCAA announced the six-team field that will compete for a national championship starting May 2, in Columbus, Ohio.

Only a day after all four NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball conferences crowned their champions, the NCAA announced the six-team field that will compete for a national championship starting May 2, in Columbus, Ohio.

Long Beach State, Penn State, Ohio State, and Barton earned automatic berths into the NCAA postseason by winning the MPSF, EIVA, MIVA, and Conference Carolinas, respectively. BYU and Hawaii entered the field with at-large bids.

Reigning national champion and NCAA tournament host Ohio State earned the top seed and will play the winner of No. 4 seed Hawaii vs. No. 5 seed Penn State in the semifinals on Thursday, May 4.

MPSF champ Long Beach State was seeded second, and will face the winner of No. 3 BYU vs. No. 6 Barton in the semifinals.

Thursday, May 4, 2017

8 PM ET: No. 1 Ohio State vs. Winner of Hawaii/Penn State

7 PM ET: National Championship Match
